Finally another Happy Hour!

It’s been a while since I last did a wrap-up newsletter for the week! Life has been crazy.

Alright, let’s recap the week for this Happy Hour.

  • How about those starting pitchers for the Brewers? More specifically, Woodruff, Burnes, and Peralta’s first start was great. Burnes is on another planet right now. His stuff is sick. The Brewers have one of the best duos in the entire majors between Woodruff and Burnes. But, can we please get some offense for the Brewers? I know it’s only seven games into the season, but come on! Capitalize on these pitching performances!
  • Hey, were doing something fun on the show right before the NFL draft. I’m looking for 16 of you to be general managers for teams. Each general manager will be a general manager for two teams and were doing a live mock draft the Wednesday before the first round. • I know everyone is getting tired of this Aaron Rodgers/Packers contract situation. So am I. But if you haven’t read Rob Demovsky’s latest piece it’s a must. He talked to an agent, scout, coach, and front office executive to get their thoughts on the situation. Here was one piece, out of many, I thought was interesting from the agent he spoke to:

“They’ve called me about one of my players and said ‘Hey, this is where we are now, and until we get something big done — hint, hint — we don’t have any space.”

So is this holding up the Packers plans to get free agents? One agent seems to think so… Read the whole piece here: https://www.espn.com/blog/green-bay-packers/post/_/id/50692/do-packers-need-to-re-commit-to-aaron-rodgers-an-agent-scout-coach-and-exec-weigh-in

  • If you’re not listening to the re-branded Man Cave Podcast, we can’t be friends.
  • Speaking of the NFL Draft, we’re doing something. Just don’t know yet.  Stay tuned.
  • Whoever the Badgers hire for their new athletic director, that person has some HUGE shoes to fill. Not just because they’re replacing Barry Alvarez, but add in that Barry replaced Pat Richter and took it up a notch. Can the next AD take it up another notch? Is it possible? Fingers crossed it is possible.

Alright, that’s gonna do it for this week’s Happy Hour. My apologies for not sending out one for a while!

Cheers!
