Fatal fire in Poland under investigation
The state Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a fatal fire in Poland. Officials say firefighters were called to the home on 172 Tiger Hill Road shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday. Investigators say once the flames were out, responders found a man’s body inside the home. The body is believed to be that of 65-year-old Michael Murphy, who lived there.Firefighters from Oxford and Mechanic Falls Fire Departments were called to the scene along with the Mechanic Falls Police Department and the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department.An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
