To the editor:

Thank you to the White Earth Nation in their quick response to COVID-19. Back in March 2020, there was an immediate collaboration of the Emergency Medical Team (EMT) White Earth Tribal Health, Indian Health Service, along with local, regional, state and national agencies in developing protocol regarding the COVID pandemic.

When the COVID vaccine was received on the reservation, White Earth opened their borders allowing non-natives and later on those living off reservation to receive their vaccination. For this we express deep gratitude and appreciation.

No doubt, many lives were saved.

Thank you to all the essential workers who have and continue to work tirelessly these past months, risking their lives to keep communities safe. We admire your dedication and courage. We wish you safety and good health as you work to get us through this horrific pandemic. Your contributions are appreciated and we keep you in thoughts, hearts and prayers. Stay strong and thank you.
