EVENING. HE WAS CHARGED WITH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. AND INDIANA MAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED AFTER STATE POLICE. SAY HE SHOT. SCOTT COUNTY DEPUTY ACCORDING TO ISP. IT HAPPENED AROUND 5:45 THIS MORNING ON STATE ROAD 256 AND TERRY ROAD NEAR AUSTIN POLICE. SAY THE DEPUTY SAW 52 YEAR OLD TODD LACEY ON AN ATV RUN A STOP SIGN WHEN THE DEPUTY TRIED TO PULL LACEY OVER. HE TOOK OFF INTO A NEARBY FIELD DURING THE FOOT CHASE THROUGH THE FIELD. THE DEPUTY SAID HE HEARD WHAT HE BELIEVED WAS GUNFIRE HE SHOT BACK BUT NO ONE WAS INJURED IN THE EXCHANGE THE CHASE LED TO AN EIGHT-HOUR SEARCH FOR LACEY. HE WAS EVENTUALLY FOUND HEADING OUT AND A WOODED AREA REPORTS. SAY A WEAPON WAS NOT FOUND, BUT WHEN LACEY WAS ARRESTED, HE WAS CARRYING AMMUNITION. LACEY’S CURRENTLY BEING

Indiana State Police tracked down a man they say shot at a Scott County deputy.The incident happened around 5:45 a.m. Sunday near State Road 256 and Terry Road, near Austin.According to ISP, a deputy observed the man on an ATV run a stop sign.When the deputy initiated a traffic stop, the man fled into a nearby field.Sgt. Carey Huls with ISP tells WLKY the man stopped and shot at the deputy, who returned fire.According to Sgt. Huls, it does not appear at this time that anyone was struck in the exchange of gunfire.Police recovered the ATV after the incident. According to Huls, police identified the suspect, Todd Lacey, 52, after speaking to residents in the area. Indiana Conservation Officer K-9 Smokey helped officers locate Lacey nearly eight hours later hiding in a wooded area near the scene.Huls says Lacey was taken into custody around 1:30 p.m. and transported to the Washington County Jail.
