Bihar: VHP demands harsh action against criminals involved in mob lynching of Kishanganj SHO
PATNA: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Sunday expressed its deepest condolences on the brutal mob lynching of the station house officer (SHO) of Kishanganj Ashwini Kumar allegedly by “Islamic Jihadists” and expressed alarm over attack on his police party demanding that the criminals be harshly curbed and contained.
In a statement issued here, the VHP national secretary general Milind Parande said, “This episode of atrocious assassination on Saturday morning at a village under Panjipara police station area in North Dinajpur district of West Bengal is not the first of its kind in the region.
This region, notorious for Bangladeshi infiltrators, liquor and smuggling has also seen attacks on security forces many times before. But, due to the apathy of the local police administration of Bengal and political patronage, this area has become a haven and paradise for criminals. The area, by becoming the sleeper cell of Jihadi terrorists, also poses a threat to India's internal security. A full stop is mandatory on such activities of these assassins, criminals and illegal intruders.”
Parande said that being a border district of Bihar, the criminals after committing a crime in Kishanganj easily get a sanctuary in neighbouring West Bengal and if the police force follows them for investigation then the criminals act as sworn enemies of the police party.
Expressing his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members at the supreme sacrifice of the SHO, the VHP leader also said that now it is absolutely necessary in high gear action to choose one Bangladeshi infiltrator after another and ensure their deportation from the country and make their political connections public.
Ashwini Kumar (52), posted the SHO in Kishanganj district, was beaten to death by a mob during a raid in the adjoining North Dinajpur district in West Bengal in the wee hours of Saturday. The incident took place around 3.30 am when the SHO along with half a dozen police personnel had gone to nab the kingpin of a motorbike lifters' gang.
Unable to bear the shock of his son’s untimely death, the SHO’s septuagenarian mother Urmila Devi also died on Sunday morning at her native village in Purnia district.
The SHO and her mother were consigned to flames together on the same pyre at village Panchu Mandal Tola under Jankinagar police station area of Bihar’s Purnia district on Sunday afternoon.
