UP: 3 killed, 8 injured in road mishap in Etawah

At least three people were killed and eight others injured in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Etawah district on Monday morning. According to police, the victims were going to Jhansi from Delhi by car to participate in Panchayat Polls.

KANPUR: At least three people were killed and eight others injured in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Etawah district on Monday morning.
According to police, the victims were going to Jhansi from Delhi by car to participate in Panchayat Polls.
On the way, the car got punctured near Bakewar area of Etawah at around 4am. All occupants came out.
In the meantime, a rashly driven truck hit the car and victims standing next to the vehicle.

The driver fled the spot. Locals called up the police control room.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the accident and directed district authorities to provide proper medical aid to the injured.
The police identified the two deceased as Pramod (28), Buddhi Singh (50).
The identity of the third deceased could not be ascertained.
The injured have been admitted to the district hospital, the police said.
"Among the injured, two minors, have been referred to Saifai Medical university," added the police.
"One among the injured identified as Sandeep told police that they were going to their native village Semri in Guru Sarai police station area to take part in upcoming Panchayat polls," said a police officer.
