West Ham could face a difficult task keeping hold of Jesse Lingard beyond the summer amid reports of three of Europe's big guns entering the race for his transfer.

Lingard has been in spectacular form for the East London club, netting eight times in nine appearances since joining on loan in January.

The 28-year-old's resurgence has now given Manchester United a decision to make at the end of the season when Lingard will enter the final 12 months of his contract at Old Trafford.

But the midfielder will have no shortage of potential suitors if United opt to move him on.

As reports ESPN , Lingard is now being tracked by the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan with a view to a summer switch.

Should he be selected by England, a good performance at the European Championships could sway any of the trio into making a bid.

United were previously open to offers of around £15million for their former academy graduate but are now thought to be pushing for double that figure in light of his electric form.

Lingard has been thriving under David Moyes and appears to be happy playing for West Ham, but key to his decision could be whether they qualify for the Champions League for next season.

The Hammers are currently occupying fourth spot but are being followed closely by both Chelsea and Liverpool.

Moyes would clearly like to keep him around, as per his comments following West Ham's 3-2 win over Leicester at the weekend, where Lingard bagged a brace.

"Well, he has been crucial before that," Moyes said (via football.london ). "He has come in and helped the team greatly in the way he has played and also his attitude around the club, it has lifted us up.

"I didn't expect Jesse to probably get as many goals so I am really thrilled with the amount of goals he is getting at the moment and long may it continue."

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted he would be open to welcoming Lingard back into his squad after the summer break, but he will also be under pressure to sell if a contract extension cannot be agreed.

Lingard may have other ideas too, given he aimed what appeared to be a subtle dig at Solskjaer over a lack of chances at United, and may prefer to be the main man elsewhere rather than more of a squad player at Old Trafford.
