Nikki Grahame was reportedly being lined up for a job as a researcher on Big Brother before her death last week.

The telly star - who passed away last week aged 38 - shot to fame on the seventh series of the hit reality show back in 2006.

As well as appearing on the main show, she made many appearances on the various spin-offs including Big Brother's Little Brother and Big Brother's Big Mouth over the years.

Now it's been revealed Channel 5 bosses had reportedly hoped to give Nikki a role working behind-the-scenes on Big Brother's Bit On The Side alongside fellow former housemate Rylan Clark-Neal.

However, Big Brother got canned by C5 in 2018 after 18 series and Nikki reportedly never get her chance to return.

"For this reason she needed to think about a new strategy professionally and started talking to BB about working behind the scenes as a researcher.

"She knew the brand inside out, was actually bright, creative and full of some kooky ideas...

"Then C5 pulled the plug on the show and it was over soon after that so she never got the chance to work behind the scenes."

After starring in Big Brother seven, Nikki went on to make a number of returns to the programme which made her name, heading into the house four times including stints on Ultimate Big Brother and Big Brother Canada.

She also made an appearance in the final series of Big Brother UK before it was binned by Channel 5.

Nikki had previously insisted she had no regrets about going on the show - and credited it with changing her life for the better.

During a Big Brother special, she explained: "There is something about this house where nothing else matters.

"Big Brother has played such a huge part of my life, it changed my life for the better.

"I don't have one regret, not one. It will always have a place in my heart."
