Marion County Health Department reports four new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday

The Marion County Health Department is reporting four new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.  Two of the cases are in students and contact tracing is underway on both of them.   Three of the cases are considered community spread and one is believed to have been spread from a household or close contact.

There are currently 34 active cases in the county, including three who are in the hospital.  One of those is on a ventilator.  Three were released from isolation on Tuesday.

The Clinton County Health Department is reporting two new positive cases with a total of 15 in isolation.

The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting no new cases and 13 in isolation.

The Fayette County Health Department is reporting 17 new cases in the past week.

Statewide, 3,193 new cases of cornavirus were reported along with 17 additional deaths.   One death apiece was reported in St. Clair and Madison County.  The rest were in Central or Northern Illinois.

The preliminary seven-day positivity rate dipped a tenth of a percent to 4.3-percent.  Another 100,729 doses of vaccine were distributed on Monday, bringing the total to more than 7.3-million.
