Watch: Meteor lights up the sky in Florida

A bright meteor shot across and lit up the night sky of South Florida and the Bahamas on Monday, April 12.

The quick moment was captured by security cameras and eyewitness across the state as the meteor hurtled into the Earth's atmosphere at high speed, exploded in a burst of light and burned up.

The fireball was visible along the Florida coast and even sighted on the Bahamas. A sonic boom was also reported on the Grand Bahama Island.
