Angul district witnessed a steep rise in the number of coronavirus cases on Tuesday. As per the administration’s report, the district recorded 393 cases, making it the highest single-day spike and taking the tally to 14,668.
With the spurt in cases there has been an increase in number of people getting admitted to the
district hospital. As per reports, Banarpal block recorded 93 cases while 65 infections were reported from
Talcher block and 67 from
Chhendipada block.
Angul collector Sidhartha Shankar Swain said, “Positive cases were sent to Angul district headquarters hospital’s corona ward while mild patients have been advised home isolation.”
The district collector has directed officials to stock up on the required quantity of oxygen for all health centres and Covid care centre
