Order for reserving serving 100 rooms at The Ashok for HC judges withdrawn by the Delhi government

An order by the Delhi Government to convert 100 rooms of Ashoka Hotel into a COVID health facility for judges and judicial staff of the Delhi High Court and their families has been withdrawn

In an order issued by the sub-divisional magistrate of Chanakyapuri on April 25, it was stated that 100 rooms of Ashoka Hotel in Lutyens’ Delhi will be converted into a COVID health facility for judges of the high court.

The order further said that the COVID facility at the hotel will be associated with Primus Hospital and was being set up on the request “of the Delhi High Court”.

The Delhi High Court pulled up the Delhi government for passing this order. “You don’t have oxygen for anybody and you’re giving us 100 beds. Stop passing orders left, right and center and take immediate corrective measures,” the court said.
