KANYAKUMARI: V Vijaya Kumar alias Vijay Vasanth of the Indian National Congress has established a lead by 1,17,099 votes over his nearest rival Pon Radhakrishnan of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Of the 7,72,520 votes counted till the 19th round, the 37-year-old businessman secured 4,15,167 votes while the two-time Union minister secured 2,98,068 votes.
Vijayakumar established a huge lead over Radhakrishnan from the first round.

With a few more rounds to go, Vijayakumar is on the verge of succeeding his father late H Vasanthakumar as Kanyakumari MP.
Naam Tamilar Katchi candidate R Anetter Allwyn with 41,485 votes secured the third position while C H Shuba of the Makkal Neethi Maiam was in the fourth spot with 5,900 votes.
