The latest series of Line of Duty concluded on Sunday night (May 2) following weeks of speculation and fan theories.

The final episode of the BBC thriller, created by Jed Mercurio, amassed more than 12 million viewers.

There was however a mixed reaction to the conclusion to the sixth series, despite the record ratings.

A seventh series has yet to be confirmed but the latest betting odds predict that AC-12 will still return.

Betfair's current odds suggest another series will air next year (8/13) or in 2023 (6/5).

This is compared to 8/1 odds that the BBC will announce that the sixth series of the thriller was its last.

The online gambling company has also released the latest odds on the cast appearing on I'm a Celebrity.

The ITV series, which was filmed in Gwrych Castle in Abergele last year, is set to return later this autumn.

Much about the new series remains a mystery, including the location as well as the celebrities taking part.

According to Befair though, there's now speculation that someone from Line of Duty could be a campmate.

The current favourite is Martin Compston, who plays DI Steve Arnott, with the actor's odds standing at 6/4.

He's followed by his long-running co-stars Vicky McClure (DI Kate Fleming) and Adrian Dunbar (Superintendent Ted Hastings), who have odds of being on I'm a Celebrity at 4/1 and 6/1 respectively.

The odds for Kelly MacDonald, who starred as DCI Jo Davidson in the sixth series, currently stand at 10/1. And Anna Maxwell Martin (DCS Patricia Carmichael) is 14/1 whilst Nigel Boyle (DSU Ian Buckells) is 16/1.

Discussing the latest odds, Betfair spokesman Sam Rosbottom commented that "there are no other actors in the UK at present as in demand as the cast of Line of Duty," which could lead to reality TV appearances.

They added: "Currently Martin Compston, who plays Steve Arnott, is 6/4 favourite to go into the I'm a Celebrity jungle this year. There have been a number of break out stars this series [though]."
