NOIDA: Credai has gifted 200 jumbo oxygen cylinders to the district administration under its corporate social responsibility initiative. The real estate body’s Oxygen Bank also became operational at its office in Sector 63 on Thursday.
The builders’ body recently airlifted empty oxygen cylinders from Chennai with help from the Indian Air Force (IAF) and refilled them locally before handing over to Rajiv Rai, the sub-divisional magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, in presence of Anil Kumar, the deputy commissioner (industries).

Pankaj Bajaj, president of Credai-NCR, said, “We are grateful to the Indian Air Force for transporting the jumbo oxygen cylinders on priority basis. Most of the cylinders will be used at local hospitals and sector-level Covid care facilities.”
Meanwhile, a Noida-based company has handed over two oxygen tankers to Prakash Hospital and NIIMS. The tankers have a capacity of holding 150 oxygen cylinders each.
“J Pan Tubular Components based in Greater Noida has leased out two oxygen tankers, one to Prakash Hospital and another to NIIMS at no cost,” said Rajiv Bansal, president of Indian Industries Association (IIA).
Prakash hospital was forced to stop admitting patients recently after it ran out of oxygen. “We are now applying for approvals and liquid oxygen allocation,” said Ayush Chauhan, the hospital owner.
