Prominent cricket coach Wahidul Gani’s father passes away
Abdul Ghani Khandoker, father of former Bangladesh cricketer and prominent cricket coach Wahidul Gani, breathed his last at his residence in Dhaka yesterday.
Ghani, 91, died of old age.
Ghani left behind five sons and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.
His namaz-e-janaza was held at the Mayor Mohammad Hanif Jame Mosque in Azimpur after Asr prayer yesterday and he was later buried at the Azimpur Graveyard.
Ghani worked as the Head Librarian of the Supreme Court and Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs (BILIA).
The deceased's son, Wahidul Gani, who played a sole ODI for Bangladesh against Pakistan in 1988, is one of the prominent cricket coaches of the country.
