The Ministry of Health of Armenia refutes the news spread by presses according to which medical workers of polyclinics and hospitals are forced to get vaccinated with the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine. This is what Spokesperson of the Minister of Health Hripsime Khachatryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am, adding that the allegations are groundless.

“First of all, the Ministry of Health had not set such a goal. Vaccinations are proceeding normally and have gained momentum recently due to citizens’ high level of awareness. People assess the risks correctly and understand that only through vaccination can the world fight against COVID-19, and the government is doing everything it can to make the vaccines available for the public at large. Mobile vaccination stations have been placed in the city. Citizens can register at a polyclinic and get vaccinated every day,” she said.

Vaccinations are being conducted in accordance with the minister’s order (citizens aged 18-54 and with chronic diseases receive the Sputnik V vaccine, while citizens over 55 received the AstraZeneca vaccine.).
