The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has recently arrested one more drug peddler in Goa in connection with the ongoing probe into the drug angle in the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The arrested accused has been identified as Hemant Shah and is a native of Madhya Pradesh. He was running a Shack resort in the Morjim area, Goa for the past several years. Talking about the same an NCB official said, 'Shah had supplied drugs to two drug suppliers Anuj Keshwani and Regal Mahakaal who were arrested in September and December respectively in SSR case. Keshwani and Mahakaal had revealed the name of Shah during their statements and had claimed that Shah used to supply LSD and Charas to them'. Meanwhile, the central agency had earlier made over 50 arrests in the drugs case since the investigation began back in 2020. They have also arrested Rajput's girlfriend, actor Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, and a few others under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Rhea and some other accused are currently out on bail. Sushant Singh Rajput left for his heavenly abode on June 14, 2020, which came as a huge blow to the entertainment industry along with his fans all across the globe. Initially, the Mumbai Police commenced the investigation of the case stating it was a suicide. However, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, KK Singh, filed an FIR with the Patna Police, against the late actor’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty and five others, including three of her family members, for abetment of suicide. Post which the case was transferred to CBI by the Supreme Court. Later the Enforcement Directorate, Narcotics Control Bureau, and Central Bureau of Investigation probed the case and found several loopholes in the Mumbai police’s investigation.
