Miss India 2011 and Bollywood actress
Rakul Preet Singh has teamed up with Ronnie Screwvala’s
RSVP Movies for a woman centric film. In the film,
Rakul will essay the role of a
condom tester. And, as per latest reports the film has been titled 'Chhatriwali'.
“They plan to call it Chhatriwaali. Yes, the film will be titled so, since Condom is called chhatri in typical local language. Since Rakul plays the role of a
condom tester, this film has been given the title.
While Sardar and Grandson happen to be Rakul's debut digital project, it was planned as a theatrical release initially. But Chhatriwaali is being ideated as a direct to OTT release, much like RSVP's Dhamaka,” a source told a leading daily.
‘Chhatriwaali’ will be a quirky drama that will aim at destigmatising the use of condoms. Indians still shy away from buying condoms or even uttering the word.
Apart from this, the beauty queen has her bag full with films. She will be seen in ‘Mayday’ starring
Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan on January 2. She will also be seen in ‘Thank God’ with
Ajay Devgn,
Sidharth Malhotra. The thriller drama is being directed and produced by Ajay Devgn himself. She will also be a part of ‘Attack’, opposite
John Abraham and
Jacqueline Fernandez and ‘Doctor G’ opposite
Ayushmann Khurrana. She will also be seen in ‘Sardar Ka Grandson’ opposite
Arjun Kapoor.
Rakul Preet Singh will also be seen in Nithiin starrer ‘Check’,
Kamal Haasan’s ‘Bharateeyudu 2’, Pawan Kalyan's ‘PSPK 31’, and an untitled rustic drama directed by Krish.
