The Los Angeles Philharmonic has announced the lineup for its 2021 Summer Series at the Hollywood Bowl including more than 50 live performances and 14 concerts with the LA Phil under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel.

After consulting with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the Hollywood Bowl will limit capacity and offer both vaccinated and non-vaccinated sections when it officially reopens to the public with its July 4th Fireworks Spectacular featuring Kool & the Gang performing alongside the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra led by Thomas Wilkins on July 3-4. Some of the other performers in the series include Christina Aguilera on July 17-18; Kamasi Washington with Earl Sweatshirt on July 18; Cynthia Erivo on July 30; Ziggy Marley and the Wailing Souls on Aug. 1; Dave Kos and Tower of Power on Aug. 8; H.E.R. with the LA Phil on Aug. 13-14; Carlos Vives on Aug. 27-28; Brittany Howard with Jamila Woods and Georgia Anne Muldrow on Sept. 18; and Herbie Hancock will close out the LA Phil series on Sept. 26.

Several of the seasonal favorite events will return as well including the Tchaikovsky Spectacular with Fireworks Aug. 6-7; and movie nights like Maestro of the Movies on Sept. 3-5; “The Princess Bride” in Concert on July 31; Sing-A-Long “Sound of Music” on Aug. 21; “Black Panther” in Concert on Sept. 10-12; and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” in Concert on Sept. 17.

Season subscriptions are renewable now, tickets for July 3-4 go on sale May 18 and individual concert tickets are available to the general public June 1. For the full lineup and to purchase tickets, go to HollywoodBowl.com.

For the 2021 season, the venue is dedicating the majority of its seating to fully vaccinated patrons and limiting the capacity to 67 percent. To be seated in the non-socially distanced vaccinated section you must show proof of full vaccination and photo I.D. upon entry. There will be two socially distanced seating sections for non-vaccinated guests who will have to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test 72 hours prior to the event and photo ID before entry. Children ages 3-16 may sit with parents in the vaccinated section if they show proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Children two and younger will not need to be tested.

Ahead of the 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, the venue will honor frontline workers with five free, invite-only concerts. In partnership with Kaiser Permanente, those guests can enjoy two performances by Dudamel and the LA Phil performing Tchaikovsky to Montgomery May 15 and 22 and Los Angeles-based Grammy Award-winning Latin band La Santa Cecilia on June 26. The Amazon Original movie “P!nk: All I Know So Far,” will screen live at the venue on May 17 in advance of its worldwide release and include a special appearance and introduction from pop star Pink. The fifth free concert will be Thundercat and Flying Lotus on June 12.
