Gaps 7G raises awareness with ‘Vaccination’

As the world continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, dancehall artiste Gaps 7G released a new single, Vaccination, last Friday.

"You know, common sense states that by having the jab, we're opening up one of the most important areas that we have so desperately missed, which is entertainment. So I am playing my part to raise awareness. Vaccination is the single most important thing people can do to stop the spread of COVID-19 so we can all get back to a normal life," said the artiste, given name Paul Cardoza Jr.

With the vaccine roll-out continuing at a steady rate in both the UK and US, streaming giant Spotify says it has noticed a new trend among users in regard to the emergence of vaccine-related playlists. Against that backdrop, Spotify in April shared a 'Vaccine Songs' playlist that it hopes its listeners "will tune into to celebrate getting their coronavirus vaccinations".

"We all have to play our part to limit this disease," Gapd 7G insisted, adding that entertainers have a big role to play in helping to raise awareness about the seriousness of the virus. He pointed to India as an example of the horror of COVID-19. The country recorded more than 400,000 new cases within a 24-hour period. Gaps 7G shared that there are plans to shoot visuals for Vaccination soon.
