RUSTBURG, Va. (WFXR) – May is Elder Abuse Prevention/Older Americans Month.
With that in mind, the Campbell County Department of Social Services is asking citizens to help carry the message by doing what you can to remember and advocate for senior citizens in your community.
If you know of any homebound adults or those who may be living in a senior facility or even those who don’t have any friends or family that they regularly communicate with, reach out to them for a visit, a call or a card – even a text, for those who are tech-savvy.
If you are a part of a group at church, school or social circle and are looking for a way to make a difference, remember…even small things can make a world of difference to an elderly or disabled member of the community.
Campbell County Department of Social Services also encourages everyone to share your inspirational story by posting about it on social media, using the hashtag #ElderAbusePreventionMonth.
