Karrion Kross def. Austin Theory

Karrion Kross has gone full Ultimate Warrior by going ice cold since the moment he won a world championship.

Kross sold so much for Austin Theory in this match I thought they mixed up their roles.

Austin Theory had this match won, and instead of staying in the ring when the count reached nine, he foolishly broke the count. I understand that the Austin Theory character is a dumb jock, but none of that was brought up on commentary when he made possibly the dumbest move of his career by not taking a countout win over a sitting world champion.

MSK def. Breezango

The spot that featured the referee doing a leap frog was my favorite spot on this entire show and it’ll be weeks before it’s topped.

Breezango insisted on shaking hands after this match, which tells me it’s time to start the countdown to their heel turn.

Pete Dunne def. Leon Ruff

I love the storyline continuity of Leon Ruff being able to wrestle only after accepting an open challenge.

Between his backstage segments, and being protected in defeat, Leon Ruff is quietly going from a glorified jobber to a legitimate midcarder.

Raquel Gonzalez def. Mercedes Martinez—WWE NXT Women’s Championship

This match did a great job making it seem like Mercedes Martinez might actually win this thing.

This was one power move after another and that’s all it ever should have been.

I was shocked at the lack of outside interference in this match.

Isiah “Swerve” Scott Appears Live

A.J. Francis has bars. The Max Caster feud writes itself.

This felt like an amalgamation of black slang words (bars, flex, facts!) designed to make WWE’s middle-aged viewers uncomfortable.

Kyle O’Reilly def. Oney Lorcan

I loved the post-match interaction between Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly. I haven’t been this interested in Bobby Fish since he debuted.

Bobby Fish became the fourth former member of The Undisputed Era to be saddled with terrible theme music.

Kushida def. Santos Escobar—WWE NXT Cruiserweight Championship

So, what if WWE NXT goes off the air before the final fall like what happened during that one NXT Iron Man Match?

I love how Kushida forced a tap-out slightly before going to its final commercial break.

This match was hurt by a couple of late botches but its finishing sequence was exciting and Kushida winning was a legit shocking to me.
