Jamestown High School seniors Shea Carroll and Brad Burnham fired Class A state-qualifying rounds of golf Tuesday at the Mandan Invite.
Carroll and Burnham turned in rounds of 80 and 81, respectively, at Mandan's Prairie West Golf Course to qualify for next month's state golf meet beginning June 7 at Hawktree in Bismarck.
The Blue Jays finished a hard-luck ninth as a team at 333, with Willison, Dickinson, Bismarck Legacy, and Bismarck all coming in one stroke ahead of Jamestown at 332.
Century's Logan Schoepp defeated St. Mary's Jackson Gilchrist in a playoff for medalist honors. Minot cruised to the team title by 16 strokes over Century, 304 to 320.
Andrew Walz (85) and Easton Romsdal (87) rounded out Jamestown's team scores. Jamestown's next competition is scheduled for Monday at the Bismarck Invite hosted by Riverwood Golf Course beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Olson, Hibl win in Bismarck
Jamestown's Phoebe Olson and Lauryn Hibl were able to top Century's best duo at No. 1 doubles on Tuesday at Sertoma Tennis Courts in Bismarck.
The Blue Jay pair battled to a 6-3, 0-6, 10-5 victory, earning Jamestown's lone victory in an 8-1 loss to the Patriots.
The Blue Jays (2-7, 0-4 WDA) host Minot (12-1, 5-1) on Thursday at Bolinger Tennis Courts beginning at 4:15 p.m.

Softball drops two at Bismarck
Blue Jays softball was swept 7-2 and 3-2 by the Bismarck High Demons on Tuesday night in Bismarck.
The Blue Jays sit third in the West Region standings at 11-3 following the losses, behind Bismarck (11-3) and Dickinson (11-1). Jamestown, at 15-5 overall, is scheduled to play at West Fargo Sheyenne on Friday in non-conference action before playing Minot (14-8, 9-5 WDA) this Saturday at 1 p.m.
