BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — If you still have Blacksburg Bucks to spend, you only have a few more weeks to use them.
According to Step Into Blacksburg, the organization promoting Blacksburg Bucks, the program made a huge impact on the town, infusing $600,000 into local retailers, restaurants, fitness and dance studios, personal service businesses, and more.
The program reportedly matched $300,000 of private citizen spending with $300,000 of CARES Act funding as a way to promote direct local spending in the Blacksburg business community.
As of May 3, Step Into Blacksburg says more than $450,000 have been spent through the program.
However, these certificates are set to expire on June 1, so check out this list of the 100+ Blacksburg establishments where you can exchange your Blacksburg Bucks for goods or services.
