From today, Noida to offer O2 concentrators on rent
Noida/Ghaziabad: Gautam Budh Nagar district reported 992 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday. Since April 29, it is only for the second time that the daily cases have remained under 1,000.
Also, 1,228 people recovered from the infection. Officials said that the recovery rate is likely to improve further in the coming days as the number of those admitted 15 to 20 days ago was higher than the fresh cases reported this week.
As many as 11 deaths were reported in the district on Wednesday taking the total fatality count to 350.
The Noida Authority will offer oxygen concentrators on rent from Thursday.
Through corporate social responsibility funds, companies have provided 20 concentrators to the authority.
Chief executive officer of the authority said that the concentrators will be offered against a refundable amount of Rs 7,500 and will be provided for a week to the residents.
Meanwhile, Ghaziabad recorded five deaths and 743 fresh Covid cases on Wednesday. For the past seven days, the number of fresh Covid cases has gone below the 1000 mark in the district. The sample positivity rate for May is 17%, while the overall positivity rate is 5.1%.
The administration has issued a WhatsApp number – 9910426374 – for registering complaints related to overcharging by hospitals, denial of handing over of bodies to attendants as well as overcharging by drivers of ambulances, hearse vans and by staff at crematoriums.
