The picture caused a storm on social media as news reports of Kuldeep getting the vaccine shot in the lawn of the Kanpur Nagar Nigam guest house started doing the rounds. Kanpur district administration immediately ordered an inquiry probe into the matter.

"Get vaccinated immediately whenever you get a chance. Be safe because you need to be united in the fight against COVID-19," Kuldeep tweeted in Hindi.

A day later on May 16 Kuldeep clarified on the same post that he took the jab at the authorised vaccination centre.

"This is a vaccination centre. Thank You," Kuldeep wrote in Hindi.

The city magistrate Himanshu Gupta submitted his report on Wednesday in which he categorically mentioned that Kuldeep got the vaccine dose at the Jogeshwar Hospital in Govind Nagar for which he had booked a slot under the id of anm kamini.

The report further went on to claim that Kuldeep's name was 136th on the official register for entries kept at the vaccination centre.

But when the magistrate was questioned by an India Today reporter, he dismissed the incident as a social media gimmick. Gupta said Kuldeep put the photo on social media at the behest of his friends as it is in the rage these days.

Gupta also admitted that he never met or spoke to Kuldeep in person but gave him a clean a chit in his report after his investigation.
