Nilgiris logs 583 new cases of Covid-19

Udhagamandalam: The Nilgiris district recorded 583 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday, taking the tally to 19,661. With 604 patients recovered and were discharged on the day, the total number of patients recovered in the district rose to 15,613 so far.
The district also reported two Covid deaths, taking the toll to 94.
Of the 3,954 active cases, around 50% of them are under home quarantine while the remaining patients are treated at various health facilities including government hospitals and Covid care centres.
While 40% of the active cases are from Gudalur taluk, the remaining are scattered across the other three blocks in the district.
