Before former Vice President Mike Pence speaks at a New Hampshire GOP fundraiser this evening, Democratic U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan is using the Republican’s Granite State appearance as a way to raise some campaign dough.

Hassan’s team blasted out an email to supporters Thursday afternoon, saying that Pence is coming to New Hampshire and that the GOP is “all-in to try and defeat Maggie Hassan, flip this seat, and take back control of the Senate.”

“We’ve set an emergency $10,000 fundraising goal before Mike Pence gets on stage tonight,” the Hassan email reads. “Mike Pence’s fundraiser is expected to bring in thousands of dollars to attack Maggie, and we need your help to fight back. Can you rush $5 or more to our campaign today?”

Pence will be the featured speaker Thursday evening at the annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner hosted by the Hillsborough County Republicans in Manchester.

CSPAN is set to have his speech at 6 p.m.

“CNN, Politico, and The Washington Post have all reported that New Hampshire is one of the most likely Senate seats to flip to the GOP in 2022,” the Hassan email reads. “With our fragile 50-50 majority, we can’t give up any ground in this crucial race.

“If you can, please chip in $5 or whatever you can to our emergency fund,” the email adds. “Senator Hassan is really counting on your support.”

Pence visited New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, a Republican, ahead of Thursday evening’s event.
