Telangana: Covid-19 infected Maoists not allowed to join hospitals?

HYDERABAD: Key members of the the Communist Party of India (Maoists) are reportedly suffering with Covid-19 but their top brass have been restraining them from taking treatment in hospitals by restricting them to forest area.
Warangal police said that Katakam Sudharshan, Thippari Tirupati, Yaapa Narayana alias Haribhushan, Chokka Rao alias Damodhar, Kakatam Raji Reddy, Katta Ramchander Reddy, M Devender Reddy, Kunkatti Venkataiah, M Unjal, Kodi Manjula, Pusum Padma, Kakarla Sunitha are some of those who contracted the virus.
“It is only after the health condition of its concerned naxal gets deteriorated, CPI Maoist party is allowing its cadre to get themselves admitted into private hospital by moving out of the forest area. Until then they are not allowed to take treatment by moving out their hide outs,’’ Warangal police said.
One of the top Maoist leader Bade Chokkarao alias Damodar’s guard also got infected with the virus. When he tried to escape from their hideout, Maoist party militia members nabbed him and kept him in isolation and are not permitting him for treatment.
Maoist party Dandakaranya special zone divisional committee secretary Gaddam Madhukar alias Mohan alias Shobhroy who was caught by the police on Wednesday revealed the names of the top Maoist leaders who were suffering Covid-19. He was taken into the police custody when he came to the city for Covid-19 treatment on Tuesday. Officials suspect that a protest meeting held 10 days ago at Bijapur by Maoist against a police camp, in coordination with local tribals, might have led to some of its cadre in CPI Maoist contracting virus.
