In South Florida, a man is accused of throwing a baby at a deputy after a high-speed chase.John James III was arrested in Indian River County, and deputies released video showing him throw the baby and the moments leading up to it. "I'm just happy the kid was alright and that he has no injuries, that he's safe and the guy is behind bars," said deputy Jacob Curby. Curby caught the 2-month-old after, deputies say, James threw the child in the air. James has been charged with child abuse and aggravated battery on an officer. Deputies say they tried to stop him for driving recklessly in Vero Beach. Rather than pulling over, deputies say James hit the gas pedal with a 2-month-old baby inside. In his attempt to get away quickly, James allegedly threw the infant right at a deputy. "Not a a little toss or anything." said Curby. "He just turned around overhand threw this 2-month-old at me from about 6 feet away."Deputies said James smelled like alcohol and continued to resist arrest.Curby said its a miracle the baby wasn't injured.
