HYDERABAD: A 43-year-old real estate agent ended his life in Kowkoor forest area by consuming poison due to mounting debts. The victim’s body was found on Wednesday and based on the complaint lodged by his family, a suspicious death case was registered.
The victim was B Naveen Reddy, 43, a resident of Jawaharnagar. According to Jawaharnagar inspector Venkateshwarulu, the victim went missing after leaving his house on Saturday afternoon.

While the family continued to look for Reddy, his body was found in the forest area near Kowkoor dargah on Wednesday. “Reddy had the habit of leaving the house without informing anyone when he would return,” the inspector said.
Police found an empty pesticide bottle near the victim’s body. “We suspect that he consumed poison. Reddy’s wife, Pinki, said that in March 2021, he attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills due to the pressure from the people who he borrowed money from,” the inspector said.
In the complaint to the police, Pinki, mentioned that Naveen Reddy incurred about Rs 3 to Rs 4 crore losses in real estate deals and went into depression due to mounting debts. Police registered a case under section 174 CrPC and shifted the body for postmortem.
