The public is invited to hit the links and raise money for a good cause as Cross Timbers Family Services hosts the first Cross Timbers Classic golf tournament on June 26 at Squaw Valley in Glen Rose.

CTFS provides hope, help and healing for victims of violent crime by providing free and confidential services in English and Spanish to people in need of a better situation in Erath and surrounding counties.

The non-profit does so by working with local law enforcement and providing free counseling and advocacy to those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes.

CTFS Executive Director Laura Gambino said they provide assistance in getting someone to a safe place when they need it and follow each case in its advocacy.

Proceeds from the Classic will go toward helping CTFS in these important efforts.

Registration for the tournament is open to 4-player teams for $400 or single players for $100 each. Each player’s registration will include all greens and cart fees, complimentary breakfast and lunch and a ticket into the raffle for some quality golf-related items.

There will also be a silent auction with more high-quality golf gear donated by sponsors. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for businesses that want to show their support. These start at individual hole sponsorships for $150 and range up to gold and platinum event sponsorships

“There will be lots of activities during the tournament and lots of giveaways,” said Gambino. One such giveaway is a Callaway bag available to the player that hits the longest drive.

Check-in will start at 7 a.m. on June 26 at Squaw Valley (2439 E. Highway 67) with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided at 12:30 p.m.
