Facing power cuts for over 2 days, no action: Residents
Ghaziabad: About 500 residents of Officer City-2 in Raj Nagar Extension have claimed that they had no electricity for the past two days. They said that the sanctioned load is 400kv but the distribution is 1,400kv, which results in frequent snag in transformers.
Prateek Dhawan, a resident, said, “The temperature is above 40 degrees Celsius and imagine living under these circumstances without electricity.
More than 500 residents here are struggling for the past two days without electricity. Even the power back up is failing and this is affecting the health of the residents adversely.
Residents allege that the developer is also not helping them. Santosh Kumar, another resident, said, “We are given to understand that the sanctioned load taken by the builder is 400kv while distribution is 1400kv, which results in frequent snags in the transformers. This has been a regular affair but now it has become unbearable.”
With no solution in sight, a group of residents met officials from district administration and Ghaziabad Development Authority. “We also met officials from the power department and discussed our problems. Now it is up to the builder to rectify the fault,” Dhawan said.
A GDA official said that they have received a complaint and they try to solve the problem. “We have got the complaint and maybe the developer will be summoned and will be asked to find a durable solution to the problem,” a GDA official said.
Meanwhile, Sudan Rawat, a representative of the developer said the problem lies with the sub-station and it has been rectified.
