Two teenagers have been arrested after deputies said they broke into former Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis’ home and wrecked his sports car, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office announce Friday morning that with the help of the US Marshal’s Task Force the two suspects, identified as an 17-year-old and a 15-year-old, were located at a Touchstone Lane residence in Charlotte. A dark colored SUV with apparent green paint was also located at the home.

This vehicle is suspected to have been used as the getaway car while exiting Davis’ home and the unintended paint transfer occurred after the suspects stole a green McLaren 720S.

The two suspects in the breaking and entering are now in custody at a juvenile detention facility.

Union County Sheriff’s detectives say two juvenile suspects face charges after allegedly breaking into former Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis’ house on Tuesday.

Detectives say they believe the suspects took their time rummaging through several unlocked cars on Davis’ property before stealing two firearms and a McLaren 720S parked inside the garage.

Police say the suspects drove off in the stolen car and wrecked it, before ever making it out of the neighborhood.

Detectives believe the juvenile suspects crashed the McLaren into another car that was used to bring the suspects into the neighborhood.

Law enforcement officials say they will not release the names of the 15-year-old and 17-year-old facing charges in this case. Both juveniles face charges for burglary, two counts of larceny of a firearm, five counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, and one count of motor vehicle theft each.

Detectives say they are currently looking for the two teenagers involved, and once in custody, both suspects will be held in a juvenile facility until their court date.

Police say the stolen firearms have not yet been recovered.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis is offering a cash reward to help identify the suspects that broke into his home and stole a car early Tuesday morning.

Davis said the suspects were caught on his home surveillance video around 2:30 and 4:30 a.m. Tuesday inside of the garage going through his stuff. The suspects are said to have somehow made their way through the gate and made their way to the garage where they started going through the cars.

Union County deputies responded to the gated Weddington community around 5:25 a.m. after receiving a larceny of vehicle call for service. Upon arrival, deputies found a wrecked McLaren 720S vehicle crashed in front of a residence less than a mile from Davis’ home.

Kelly Davis said in a Twitter post that the suspects stole their McLaren and then wrecked the vehicle. According to Kelly, the McLaren hit the suspects’ SUV and the vehicle could now have green paint on it.

“If any of you recognize either one of these idiots that decided it was good idea to come into my home and go through all of my cars and even steal and wreck my McLaren,” Davis said in an Instagram post. “I’m offering a cash reward for anyone that can help identify who these guys are! More videos coming later.”

The Davis family told deputies that a neighbor called to tell them about the wrecked vehicle. As they were leaving their home, they noticed that most of the vehicles in their driveway had open doors and trunks.

Detectives believe the suspects, described as two young black men, broke into and rummaged through several unlocked vehicles in the driveway before gaining access to the garage where the McLaren was parked. The suspects drove the vehicle out of the garage and were traveling toward Providence Road when the crash occurred. Detectives are investigating the possibility that the McLaren crashed into a getaway vehicle that the suspects used in the crime.

The investigation remains active and detectives are continuing to search for video surveillance footage. Davis also reported that two firearms were stolen from one of the unlocked vehicles in the driveway.
