BHUBANESWAR: As many as four investment proposals worth Rs 1,637 crore in various sectors received the Odisha government’s nod on Friday, which would generate employment opportunities for around 1,116 people.
The state-level single window clearance authority (SLSWCA) headed by chief secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra approved the proposals that included one expansion project and one oxygen cylinder manufacturing unit.

As per the official sources, Tata Steel’s proposal to expand its iron ore beneficiation plant at Joda in Keonjhar from 12 mtpa to 17.6 mtpa received the state government’s nod.
The company will invest Rs 946 crore while the expansion unit will create additional 800 jobs.
With the state government's recently announced incentives to set up oxygen plants and oxygen cylinder manufacturing units, Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited has announced to set up an oxygen cylinder manufacturing plant with capacity of 10,80,000 cylinders per annum, which got state’s approval.
The unit to be set up in Rengali industrial estate in Sambalpur district will have investment of Rs 55 crore.
The state government also approved another proposal of Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited to set up a railway wagon manufacturing plant having capacity of 1,500 wagons per annum along with other facilities at Hirakud in Sambalpur district.
The company has planned to invest Rs 382 crore to set up the unit.
Among others, proposal for a 50 MW solar power generation plant by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited with an investment of Rs 254.71 crore in Boudh district received nod of the single window committee.
