EVERETT — Five Everett residents had their numbers chosen this week in the state’s first vaccine lottery, with prizes ranging from an Xbox console to state park Discover Passes, according to Washington Lottery data.
Meanwhile, the state is closing in on vaccinating enough residents to reopen ahead of schedule.
About 67% of Washingtonians 16 and older have received at least one shot. If that mark hits 70% before June 30, Gov. Jay Inslee has said, he will drop the state’s COVID-19 restrictions on businesses and social activity.
Across Snohomish County, about 65% of residents 16 and older have received at least one shot. More than half are fully vaccinated.
In total, 124 vaccine lottery prizes had been claimed as of Thursday evening, including 61 Discover Passes, 43 Xbox consoles, nine Amazon Echo Dots, six Fish & Wildlife gift cards, three Nintendo Switches and one state park camping pass.
Half a dozen of them went to Snohomish County residents in Edmonds, Lynnwood, Marysville and Bothell.
And Lance Rosen of Bellingham took home the week’s $250,000 cash prize.
The state has three more weekly $250,000 cash prizes. The final drawing is for $1 million.
The next drawing is set for Tuesday morning.
If you get the call, it will likely come from a phone number with a 253 or 564 area code. In addition to voicemails, lottery officials may try and reach winners via text message.
You’re automatically entered in the sweepstakes if you had at least one vaccine shot in the state.
To check your immunization record, call the state’s hotline at 833-829-4357.
On Saturday, Marysville Pilchuck High School will host a vaccine clinic from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Stanwood Library will host a vaccination clinic on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Granite Falls High School will have a vaccine clinic from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
And the Mukilteo YMCA will have a clinic Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Shots are free and appointments are not required at any of the sites. For details, you can reach the county’s COVID call center at 425-339-5278.
