Two held with 135 Nitrovit tablets in Chennai

CHENNAI: A college student and a youngster were on Thursday arrested in the Ice House area for selling tablets that substance abusers use to get high.
A police team led by inspector S Saravanan seized 135 Nitrovit tablets from them. The arrested duo was remanded in jail.
Police said the arrested have been identified as S Karthik, 21, a resident of Singarachari Street in Triplicane, and B Ajith, 21, a resident of Venkatachalam Street in Triplicane.Ajith is a final year student at Vivekananda College in Mylapore. Inquires revealed that the duo had bought the tablets from Andhra Pradesh and sold them at higher prices.
Meanwhile, the Ice House police team also arrested local thugs J Suresh alias ‘Asthma’ Suresh, 40, Dinesh alias ‘Ladies Finger’ Dinesh, 23, and Arun alias ‘Mandai’ Arun – all hailing from Royapettah – for attacking Karthik demanding that he give them the tablets for free. The arrested men were later remanded in jail.
