Noida cop shunted for abusing fruit-seller, threatening challan for not lowering mango price

A head constable has been sent to police lines after he was caught threatening a fruit seller and abusing him when the latter refused to give him two kg mangoes for Rs 100.

NOIDA: A head constable in Noida was shunted on Friday after for threatening a fruit seller and abusing him for not selling him mangoes at a discounted rate.
The action was taken against the policeman after a video of the incident surfaced on social media.
The head constable can be seen holding some mangoes in one of his hands which the vendor is forced to give him even he tells the cop that he was working hard on a hot summer afternoon.

When the vendor refused to sell mangoes for less than Rs 160/kg, the head constable Krishanpal Singh allegedly abused the vendor telling him to stay where he came from and not make rounds of the area to sell his fruits as cops were "entitled to issue challans" whenever possible.
The cop was deployed in Noida's Sector 51 area.
The vendor recorded the entire incident and his relative tweeted the video tagging the official handles of Noida police and UP police. Following which an action was taken against the head constable.
Akash Kashyap, a native of Shajanhanpur district moves to Sector 50 with his cart and sells fruits in the area.
Around 2.31pm on Thursday, he was passing near gate number 9 of Sector 50 when the head constable met him and started bargaining for two kg mangoes.

While Akash said that he sells for Rs 160, the head constable found thought that he was being overcharged and called someone with whom he discussed the rate of the mangoes.
In the video, Singh can be heard discussing the rate of mangoes with a caller on his phone and after the conversation, he talks to Akash asking him to return a part of his money.
After Akash’s uncle Govind Kashyap tweeted the video of the incident tagging official Twitter handles of UP government, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, DM GBNagar, Noida MLA Pankaj Singh and several media channels, DCP (Noida) Rajesh S issued a statement saying that the cop had been sent to police lines and ACP-3 (Noida) had been asked to conduct an inquiry against him.
