Four Indians killed in militant attack in Jammu, Kashmir


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW DELHI, June 12 (KUNA) -- Indian officials said on Saturday that two police officials and two civilians were killed while three others were injured in a militant attack in Jammu and Kashmir, a region disputed with Pakistan.
The Press Trust of India said quoting government officials that militants opened fire upon a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force and local police in Sopore city of Baramulla district killing two policemen and two civilians.
One police official and two civilians were also injured in the attack. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital and the security forces cordoned off the area to track down the fleeing militants.
New Delhi accuses Islamabad of supporting and funding the armed groups in Kashmir, claims which Islamabad denies. (end)
