Bihar logs 432 new Covid-19 cases, 18 deaths

With 432 more people testing positive, the total number of coronavirus cases reached 7,16,728 on Saturday. Fresh cases were reported from Patna (37), Purnia (33), Supaul (32), Siwan (28), Saran (24), Darbhanga (20) and Gopalganj (20). Some districts, Buxar and Sheohar, registered less than 10 new cases.

PATNA: With 432 more people testing positive, the total number of coronavirus cases reached 7,16,728 on Saturday. Fresh cases were reported from Patna (37), Purnia (33), Supaul (32), Siwan (28), Saran (24), Darbhanga (20) and Gopalganj (20). Some districts, Buxar and Sheohar, registered less than 10 new cases.
One the one hand, 18 Covid-related deaths were reported on Saturday, but on the other hand, 1,062 people defeated the virus, taking the total number of recoveries to 7,01,543.
Now, the recovery rate of Bihar stands at 97.88%.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences-Patna reported two deaths, including those of a 60-year-old man from Masuarhi in Patna and an 84-year-old from Samastipur. No Covid death was reported from the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital.
Meanwhile, as many as 1,11,248 beneficiaries were given Covid-19 vaccines on Saturday, including 1,05,538, who received their first shot. Altogether 65,507 beneficiaries belonging to the age group of 18 to 44 years were also inoculated. So far 25.27 lakh people in this age group have been vaccinated in Bihar.
