Award-winning Kannada actor Sanchari Vijay has been injured in a road accident in Bengaluru. The actor has been admitted to the intensive care unit of a city hospital and has undergone a surgery.
Vijay was riding pillion on a high-end sports bike which crashed into an electric pole. His friend Naveen was driving the bike. He has also survived the crash.
The actor had suffered brain injuries in the accident. He was operated at Apollo hospital in the city. Reports quoted a doctor as saying, “As he had blood clot in the brain, we have performed a surgery, the next 48 hours are going to be critical.”
Filmmaker and actor Sathish Ninasam said he visited Vijay in the ICU. He said doctors have told him that Vijay is out of danger now but he will remain under observation for the next 48 hours.
Sanchari Vijay made his debut with 2011 film Rangappa Hogbitna. The actor who also appeared in Harivu and Oggarane, won the National Award for Naanu Avanalla Avalu. He was actively involved with Covid-19 relief work in the last few months.
