KOLKATA: The Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) has planned to construct new height barriers on both end approaches of the Ultadanga flyover, replacing the damaged height barrier that was earlier installed.
The agency is also mulling annual maintenance of the height barriers.
KMDA officials said that the plan to install new height bars on the flyover have been taken to ensure no trucks and other heavy vehicles could ply on the flyover following the repair work on the EM Bypass-bound flank.

KMDA also plans to engage an agency for annual maintenance of the flyover including sweeping of its carriageway, washing of the crash barriers, conducting bituminous work and allied works as and when required.
