Covid cases fall, fatalities remain high in Haryana

Even though 50% of Haryana districts reported 10 or less new Covid cases on Monday, fatalities remained high. The state started the week with 268 cases, 40 deaths and 812 recoveries.

CHANDIGARH: Even though 50% of Haryana districts reported 10 or less new Covid cases on Monday, fatalities remained high. The state started the week with 268 cases, 40 deaths and 812 recoveries.
Five out of 22 districts did not report any death. With this, the cumulative Covid count of the state has reached 7,66,129 cases, 7,53,020 recoveries and 9,021 deaths.
There are 4,077 active cases, out of which 2,786 are in home isolation, while the remaining are hospitalised and are either on oxygen or ventilator support.
The fatality rate of the state has gone up further to an alarming 14.92% while cumulative fatality rate has gone up to 1.18%. Covid positivity rate of the day has come down to .94% while positivity rate of the second wave has reached 12.79%.
Recovery rate has further gone up to 98.29% and the testing rate has reached 3,77,217 tests per million population per day. Maximum five deaths were reported from Sirsa followed by four deaths each from Panipat and Hisar districts. Three deaths each were reported from Gurgaon, Karnal, Kaithal and Jind districts. Two deaths each were reported from Fatehabad, Jhajjar, Bhiwani, Yamunanangar and Kurukshetra districts. One death each was reported from Faridabad, Rohtak, Mahendragarh, Palwal and Nuh. Five districts, Charkhi Dadri, Panchkula, Rewari, Ambala and Sonipat did not report any death.
Palwal reported 29 cases, highest for the day while Hisar reported 27. Palwal now has 10,513 cases with 146 deaths and 87 active cases whereas Hisar has 53,784 cases with 959 deaths and 425 cases. Karnal reported 23 cases, Yamunanagar 22, Gurgaon 21, Fatehabad 16, Ambala and Bhiwani 15, Sirsa and Rewari 14, Faridabad 11, Panipat 10, Sonipat, Kurukshetra and Kaithal 8, Rohtak 7, Jind and Charkhi Dadri 6, Jhajjar 3, Panchkula and Nuh 2 and Mahendragarh 1.
