Banka madrassa explosion: Cops still groping in dark
BHAGALPUR: Even as the Banka police are yet to make any arrest in connection with the madrassa explosion, the investigating teams, including the special task force (STF), are cross-examining some of persons who are under police scanner. This was stated by Bhagalpur zone DIG Sujeet Kumar here on Tuesday.
He added, "Arrests will be made only after the involvement of any suspect is established."
Sources on the other hand, said that police investigating teams are also verifying the details of persons, who were closely associated with the madrassa and monitored its day-to-day functioning.

Meanwhile, to trace the background of the deceased Imam Maulana Abdul Momin Ansari, a police team from Banka also visited his native village under Sarath block of Madhupur sub-division in Deoghar district (Jharkhand) on Monday. The police team is also trying to retrieve the details of call records of the deceased from his mobile number.
The Banka police teams are also investigating into the reports about miscreants, who had hurriedly carried away the grievously injured Imam soon after the explosion and provided medical treatment through village practitioners at a secret location and later on dumped the body from an unidentified vehicle on the outskirts of the village on Tuesday last.
The explosion had occurred at the madrassa of Noori Islampur mosque building at Navtolia locality under Banka Sadar PS around 8am on Tuesday. Major parts of the building collapsed and turned into rubble in the explosion whereas the Imam’s body was recovered.
However, the Banka DM Suharsh Bhagat and SP Arvind Kumar Gupta, in a joint press conference on June 10, had stated that the explosion in the madrassa at Banka was due to crude bombs hidden in a container.
