Catena Media

Catena Media: There’s growing momentum for online casino in the US

Catena’s Head of Content for North America, sitting down for a one-on-one with SBC, believes that there appears to be growing momentum for online casino across the US – something which is likely to be accelerated as more states consider online gaming legislation.

Catena Media continues to be a leader in covering the developing US online gambling industry, as well as an affiliate behemoth, with strong brands like Legal Sports Report, The Lines and PlayUSA and its regional network of sites.

"I don’t know if we’ll get a new state with online casino this year, but it feels like there’s more momentum for it now than in the past. Legislatures are considering it in various states, and the biggest gaming companies in the US are now taking this opportunity seriously."

As far as partner operators go, there is one that has sneaked towards the top.

"BetMGM has turned itself into a strong No. 3 or even No. 2 operator across sports betting and casino in the US in short order."

DuckDuckGo

2021 looks to become another record year for the DuckDuckGo search engine

Can a privacy-focused search engine survive on today's Internet? It appears that it can, as DuckDuckGo is looking to end the year 2021 with another record-breaking traffic increase.

Here is the year-by-year listing from 2015 to 2020.

2015 -- 3.1 billion

2016 -- 4.0 billion

2017 -- 5.9 billion

2018 -- 9.2 billion

2019 -- 15.0 billion

2020 --23.6 billion

It is mid-June right now, and traffic is already at 16.0 billion queries. With six months to go, it is very likely that the 30 billion mark will be crossed in the year, and that traffic will likely end between 32-34 billion queries in the year.  Source: GHacks

First Look Games

First Look’s sentiment analysis adds another piece of the technical puzzle

First Look Games has introduced its ‘Sentiment Analysis’ tool which it says provides “another piece of the technical innovation puzzle” to further its ambition of being “the ultimate vehicle to market online casino games”.

The new tool utilises natural language processing and artificial intelligence to decipher the sentiment behind affiliate reviews. This enables First Look Games to attribute a score to each review and map out those scores by game and for the studio in general, offering unparalleled insight into the performance of affiliate partners’ games and the importance of affiliate marketing to their success.

“Ever since we launched our platform, our game studio partners have been seeking ways in which to improve the quality of the review their games get from affiliates,” commented Tom Galanis, managing director of First Look Games.

“Our accuracy management service has delivered that objectively, assisting affiliates in accessing and where necessary, correcting key information. Through the integration of natural language processing, we are now using artificial intelligence to read and decipher the sentiment behind the reviews affiliates make of our studio partners’ games.

“Sentiment analysis is a great addition to our suite of tools that allow our studio partners to have a clear understanding of how their games are being received by affiliates and players.”
