At a time Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee moves Calcutta High Court challenging the result of Nandigram Assembly Constituency, BJP has decided to move court with 50 such petitions across the state where it has been defeated by a narrow margin in the recently completed Assembly polls.

BJP West Bengal state President Dilip Ghosh said that the saffron camp will also move the court demanding recounting in 50 seats where the BJP got defeated in lesser margins.

Talking to the media, the West Bengal BJP party Chief said that while the counting was on, a TMC polling agent was present inside the Nandigram counting centre. Despite the fact the TMC is moving to court challenging the poll results. “While in many seats, TMC cadres and agents had created confusion, especially where the BJP lost by few votes. The BJP will move the court demanding recounting in those seats where there was close fight and BJP had lost with little margin.”

“Our lawyers are holding continuous discussions and soon in at least 50 seats, where the BJP has lost in less margin, we will demand recounting in those seats and move court,” claimed Ghosh.

It is pertinent to mention, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had moved Calcutta High Court on Thursday evening, challenging Nandigram assembly Constituency results. She claimed that the BJP supporters had tampered with the VVPAT machine while there was some technical snag due to load shedding in the counting centre in Nandigram.

It needs mention, that TMC candidates of Bongaon (South), Moyna, Balarampur and Goghat also filed cases in Calcutta High Court, demanding recounting from those seats as they also believe that the BJP used unscrupulous methods in those seats as well.
