A genome sequencing laboratory, to identify variants of coronavirus, is likely to start at the Delhi government's Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital by the first week of July, officials said on Wednesday. A genetic sequencing machine for the laboratory has been procured from Singapore after issuing a global tender for it, they said.
Over 16 lakh people in Delhi have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus, while more than 50 lakh have received at least one dose so far, AAP MLA Atishi said on Wednesday. She said 84,539 doses were administered in the city on June 22. Of this, around 52,000 jabs were given to people in the 18-44 age group.
The Delhi government on Wednesday granted Covid relief disbursement of Rs 10,000 each to 1,825 construction workers registered under the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, according to an official statement. Delhi Food and Civil Supplies Minister Imran Hussain on Wednesday said the city government is firmly committed to providing free ration to public distribution system beneficiaries and the needy who do not have ration cards "as long as the situation warrants". Delhi education dept, corporations to bring civic & govt schools on same page
The education department of Delhi government and the three municipal corporations will work jointly to ensure that every student passing out of a civic school is admitted to Class VI in Delhi government schools. The corporations will also implement Mission Buniyaad in their schools from Class III to improve foundational learning skills of the children. A combined parents-teachers meeting (PTM) for the students joining Class VI will be held in July. Upon completion of Class V in the civic schools, students move to Delhi government schools in Class VI.
Delhi Police summons Rajasthan Cong chief whip for questioning in phone tapping case
The Delhi Police's Crime Branch has sent a notice to Congress chief whip in the Rajasthan Assembly Mahesh Joshi asking him to appear before it on June 24 for questioning in the phone tapping case lodged on a complaint by Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The police have asked Joshi to reach the Prashant Vihar office of the Crime Branch in Rohini for the questioning. Joshi confirmed he had received the notice on Tuesday but said he would not be able to appear before the Crime Branch on June 24.

Two teachers in Noida under ATS lens for conversions
The founder of Noida Deaf Society, a vocational school for the disabled whose students were allegedly targeted for mass religious conversions by two Delhi-based men, was questioned by the cops on Tuesday.
