In the first action of its kind, an unruly person could end up on the no fly list for misbehaving at an airport for forcing the airline to accept him on a flight despite the fact that he wasn’t carrying the mandatory RT-PCR test report. The incident happened at Delhi airport Monday (June 21) afternoon when a certain S C Pandey and a lady reported at Vistara counter to check-in for Vistara flight to Mumbai (UK 933). While the lady travelling with him had the RT-PC negative report and was given boarding card, Pandey did not have the same and was refused to accept the flight. “Then he started misbehaving with staffers at the airport and other passengers. He started walking on the conveyor belt (on which check-in baggage is kept). The airline staff called CISF and the person misbehaved with them too. The security personnel had to drag him from the check-in area and was handed over to local police. The lady accompanying Pandey flew to Mumbai on UK 933,” said sources. Vistara sources say the airline has initiated proceedings against Pandey under unruly passenger rules and could end up on the no fly list for at least a couple of months. The airline tried explaining to him that the RT-PCR requirement for Mumbai-bound passengers is not a rule of the airline but of the government. A senior CISF official said: “The airline staff had agreed to give a full refund to the passenger, but he insisted on being flown on the next day's flight. Vistara duty manager called Delhi Police. The cops took the passenger and the duty manager to IGI Police Station. Delhi Police also reviewed the CCTV footage.” The police have also begun action against Pandey and he was released on bail.
