A five-year-old child was rescued and two persons who had allegedly kidnapped him were arrested after an encounter in Gonda district on Friday.

Police said that the suspects had abducted Vishal on Wednesday.
LUCKNOW: A five-year-old child was rescued and two persons who had allegedly kidnapped him were arrested after an encounter in Gonda district on Friday.
The victim, Vishal, son of Kanhaiyalal who has construction work of false ceiling in Gujarat.
Those arrested were identified as -- Shivam Rana and Jai Chandra Pandey.
A bike was also recovered from the possession of the miscreants along with a mobile phone and a country-made pistol.

Police said that the suspects had abducted Vishal on Wednesday.
Later, the family got a call from for a ransom Rs 20 lakh.
"On the basis of surveillance, we traced the location of the miscreants and then sent a team which traced the location of the accused," said superintendent of police, Gonda, who himself led the operation.
"We surrounded the accused and asked them to surrender but they opened attack on police team, in response police team also opened fire and arrested the accused, " said the superintendent of police.
He also said that a police constable was injured in the operation.
